FAQ
Questions you might be asking yourself
If something still feels unclear, you're probably not the only one. Let's name it.
The book
Who is this book for?
For anyone seriously considering strip club work — not out of curiosity, but because they want to change their financial reality. For people coming from a neighbouring world: dance, modelling, hospitality, social media. And for anyone already working who wants to go back and fill in what nobody explained at the start.
Who is it not for?
Anyone looking for a magic trick to make five figures a month without thinking, learning or taking responsibility. Anyone expecting Netflix drama — kidnappings, cartels, a sugar daddy on every corner. And anyone who wants to be told this industry is either glamorous or tragic. It is neither.
I've never danced and I don't fit the typical club image. Is this even for me?
This book is not about a specific body type, age or personality. It is about understanding how the industry works, what roles exist inside it, and what is realistic for you — with your background, your presentation and your limits. You do not need to become a loud extrovert or a professional pole dancer. You do need to be honest with yourself.
Does this book teach sexual services?
No. It doesn't teach how to provide sexual services, and it doesn't pretend that's what strip club work is.
But it also doesn't pretend the work is sexless. You are undressed. You are selling fantasy and proximity. Some people call this sex work, and depending on the definition, they're not wrong — strip club work sits close to that line, and different dancers sit at different distances from it. Some only dance and entertain. Some do more. Both exist, and the book says so.
What the book actually covers is everything you need to hold your own position on that line: what you're legally entitled to, how to read a club before you commit to it, how to set limits that hold under pressure — and how to look after your body, including sexual health, contraception, working through your period, and barrier protection. Not because the book assumes you'll need all of it, but because nobody should be learning any of it improvised, at 3am, from someone with an interest in your answer.
Will this guarantee I make a specific amount of money?
No honest book can promise you an income. What this one gives you is clarity, structure, boundaries and a realistic understanding of the industry — which can save you months of guessing and expensive mistakes in the wrong places. Your results will always depend on your choices, your context and your effort.
Can I read this if I'm already working in a club?
Yes. The core challenges of this work — boundaries, money, psychology, personal power — don't disappear with experience. They evolve. Use the chapter list to find what is most relevant to you right now, but try not to skip entirely: a different perspective on something you think you already know can be the thing that changes how you work.
Is this only about gentlemen's clubs?
The experience and examples come specifically from gentlemen's clubs — that's the context I can speak to honestly, because it's the only one I've worked in. But the psychological preparation, the safety framework and the boundary work apply across the industry regardless of who is performing or who the audience is. These are human challenges, not gender-specific ones.
What exactly do I get?
Three options, all of them including the full set of materials:
- EPUB + materials — for e-readers and reading apps
- PDF + materials — formatted for reading on a laptop or printing
- EPUB + PDF + materials — both formats
Alongside the book you get 16 ready-to-use PDF materials — tools you can work with on their own: checklists you can print or fill in directly on your laptop, templates for comparing clubs, and step-by-step checklists for your first shift, packing for departure, and signing your first contract.
Is there a refund?
No, and here's the honest reason why. This is a digital file. The moment you complete checkout, it's yours — downloaded, on your device, read or not. There's no version of “returning” it. That's why EU law lets you agree, at checkout, that delivery starts immediately, and why that agreement ends your 14-day cancellation right — you're confirming you want the thing now rather than in two weeks (Sec. 356 (5) BGB / Art. 16(m) Directive 2011/83/EU).
What that doesn't cover: if the file won't download, won't open, or arrives broken — that's not a refund question, that's me fixing it. Write to me and I'll sort it out.
Is the book only in English?
Yes, for now. Russian and Spanish editions are planned.
I'm worried about privacy. Will anyone know I bought this?
Purchase is handled by Gumroad as merchant of record. There is no public list of buyers, no profile, nothing visible to anyone. You read it alone, on your own device.
What's the difference between the three volumes?
Vol. 1 is the foundation — everything before the first shift: the decision, the psychology, safety, law, agencies, presentation. Vol. 2 goes inside the club: how it actually operates, professional etiquette, auditions, your first shift, and what you're really earning. Vol. 3 is the mechanics of earning more — sales psychology, reading guests, the specific techniques that turn an average night into a great one.
Vol. 2 is in development. Vol. 1 stands on its own.
When are Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 coming out?
Vol. 2 is in active development — it's the next thing I'm working on, not a someday plan. Vol. 3 follows after it. I'm deliberately not putting dates on this: I'd rather ship them right than ship them on a schedule I announced before the writing was done.
If you want to know the moment they're out: the mailing list gets it first, and it goes out on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube at the same time.
Can I share the file with a friend?
The file itself, no — one copy, one reader, and it can't be resold or uploaded anywhere public.
But quoting it is fine. Screenshot a page, quote a passage in your own writing, post it — just credit the source (@kay.thekeyproject or thekeyproject.ink) and keep it proportionate: a page here and there, not the substance of a chapter. That's not piracy, that's a recommendation, and I'm glad of it.
You can also keep copies on your own devices and make backups — that's your right under the law and nothing in the licence takes it away.
Can I claim this as a business expense?
You receive a proper invoice with my VAT ID (DE456026519). Whether it's deductible depends on your individual tax situation and local rules — I can't give tax advice.
1:1 sessions
What is the 1:1 session and who is it for?
A single private 60-minute online session, for people whose situation is specific or urgent enough that a book can't answer it: a particular city, a particular club, a decision with a deadline, a safety concern. Deep work on your circumstances rather than general guidance.
How does it work practically?
After purchase you get a private booking link. Pick a time that suits you — every booking is personally confirmed by me, usually within 24 hours. The session runs in your browser: no account, no app, no Zoom. The booking form asks for your 1–3 goals and a short note on your situation, so we don't spend the first fifteen minutes on context. The more you share in advance, the more we get done.
What language are sessions in?
English or Russian — you choose in the booking form.
Don't speak English or Russian? Sessions with live AI voice translation are also available in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian — you speak your language, I speak mine, and we hear each other in real time. Email me before purchasing to arrange it: kay.thekeyproject@gmail.com
Is the session recorded?
Only if you explicitly agree to it beforehand, as a separate question asked before recording starts. You can decline, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. If a recording is made, it's stored locally and isn't sent to you automatically — you can request a copy afterwards.
Do I need to read the book first?
No, but it helps. If you've read it, we skip the fundamentals and go straight to your situation — which is what you're paying for.
What if I need to reschedule?
Free reschedule up to 24 hours before the session, via the booking link or by email. Later than that, or a no-show, and the session counts as used. If I have to move it — illness, technical problems — you get a replacement date.
Your session stays valid for 6 months from purchase. If life gets in the way and that window closes, write to me — I'd rather find a workaround than have you lose what you paid for.
Is this therapy?
No. It's education, coaching and consulting — it isn't medical treatment or psychotherapy and doesn't replace professional care. If you're dealing with something that needs that kind of support, please get it from someone qualified to give it.
